Top interior design trends for Spring 2018

Spring is a lovely season to update your home. It is full of freshness and promise and you can take inspiration from the natural colours around you for your interior design.

This Spring there are many different styles to choose from that are all on trend and will stay looking fresh throughout the year. Take a look at some our our top picks for interior design trends for Spring 2018.

Scandinavian inspired interior design is still hot this season. Keep it relaxed and informal, with typical light Scandinavian furniture, avoiding bulky pieces that block cover large parts of your floor space.

Go dark

Don’t be afraid to use dark colours this season. Dark colours don’t have to be constrictive, they can be cosy and classy and add an air of luxury to a room. Being bold with dark colours, including wall paint and furniture, creates a very sophisticated feel when it is done well.

Think pink

A light rose pink creates a relaxed and effeminate feel to a space. Teamed with natural greens of house plants, pink can look thoroughly modern and fresh. If you think that going all over with pink will be too much, try adding in some pink accent colours, such as on soft furnishings and ornaments.

In South Wales we are lucky to have so many beaches for inspiration and for Spring 2018, nautical and coastal interior design is still in fashion. Don’t overdo it, but add touches of drift wood, stripes, light blues and accent with a deep indigo. Choose artwork and ornaments that will help to highlight the nautical theme. Contrast accented colours and patterns with a fresh white backdrop, so it is not overpowering.

Relaxed industrial

Industrial interior design doesn’t have to be harsh. Take features of industrial design, such as polished concrete or minimalist exposed lighting and contrast it with homely touches. Industrial design can look very clean and fresh and features such as exposed brickwork work well in a variety of different homes from different periods.
